Senior Cultural Official Lauds ‘Splendid’ 2024 Intl. Quran Fair

The Secretary General of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution has hailed the “splendid” organization of the 31st International Holy Quran Fair.

Hojat-ol-Islam Abdol Hossein Khosrow Panah issued a message of appreciation on Sunday.

Broadly speaking, the Quran’s mission is to guide all people, and it’s crucial for the Islamic community to pay greater attention to this divine book, which is the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) most significant legacy, he wrote.

Following the victory of the Islamic Revolution, numerous Quranic movements emerged in the country with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution consistently emphasizing the need to organize and strengthen these movements, he added.

“The country’s experience with the Quran is growing richer each day, and Quranic activities are experiencing both quantitative and qualitative growth. Among these activities, the annual International Holy Quran Fair stands out that is an excellent platform to showcase the country’s Quranic capabilities and to encourage greater connection and focus on the Holy Quran,” Khosro Panah wrote.

The successful organization of this exhibition is of “utmost importance,” he stressed.

This year, thanks to the tremendous efforts of the country’s Quranic practitioners, the Quran exhibition was held across 30 provinces, he said, adding that over three million compatriots visited this spiritual exhibition during the blessed month of Ramadan.

“In the international section of the exhibition, we witnessed robust participation from Quranic thinkers and researchers from 28 countries which reflects a serious commitment to the Quran and its significant role in the country’s macro policies.”

This year’s exhibition also highlighted several important issues, including the issue of Gaza, the importance of family, the emphasis on chastity and hijab, and the participation of various public groups, he added.

He expressed his gratitude for the splendid organization of this spiritual exhibition during the blessed month of Ramadan. “God willing, with your continued efforts, we look forward to seeing a growing interest in the Quran across all political, social, and cultural affairs, leading to the establishment of a Quranic and popular governance in the country.”

The 31st International Holy Quran Fair commenced at Tehran's Imam Khomeini Mosalla on March 20, coinciding with the Nowruz holidays. This spiritual and cultural event invites visitors on a journey of exploration.

Running until April 2, the exhibition welcomes enthusiasts daily from 5:00 PM to 00:30 AM local time. Notably, the fair fosters a family-friendly atmosphere, providing a warm and inclusive space for all age groups.

Iftar tables have been thoughtfully arranged, allowing visitors to break their fast together in a communal setting. Beyond its local appeal, the fair draws attention to global issues, emphasizing the role of the Quran in inspiring resistance, particularly concerning Gaza and Palestine.

Through artistic, cultural, and theatrical mediums, the fair aims to familiarize attendees with Quranic concepts. Special sections cover topics such as artificial intelligence, Nahj al-Balaghah, Quranic research and consultation, Quran translation, and easy Quran memorization.
